Shore to Sea

Pupils from Senior Infants and 1st class joined Dublin City Council for the launch of the 'Shore to Sea' project.  Our pupils are leaders in our local community encouraging others not to litter in order to protect our very important local marine life.  Our school is situated along the Shore to Sea pathway between Kilbarrack and Bull Island Strand.  Approximately 80 gullies have been painted with the project stencil, hoping to raise awareness locally about the impact litter and various pollutants have on our sea life when disposed of in the gullies.

20 Day Challenge

This November, we ran a whole school attendance drive to improve our students attendance for the month. Traditionally, school attendance is low in November. We challenged our students to be in school for 20 days in a row and in their line for 10 to 9.00am each morning. There were daily, weekly and overall prizes won over the 20 days. 63 students completed the 20 Day Challenge. The 20 Day Challenge had a very positive impact on our whole school attendance figures. Thank you to our students and their parents for their support and enthusiasm throughout the 20 Day Challenge and a thank you to local sports clubs who sponsored prizes.

Each pupil had the opportunity to create their own endings which they presented at our whole school assembly. Thanks to Fighting Words Ireland for a fantastic day and to Mrs Hearnden for organising the workshop.
